Running about 700 feet, Selig's Sealed Instructions was released in tandem with the 235-foot comedy And the Villainess Still Pursued Her. The instructions of the title are entrusted to the care of a government functionary. An enemy spy follows the government man to his home, where the villain tries to get his mitts on the secret plans. He succeeds, whereupon a lengthy chase ensues throughout the streets and suburbs of Los Angeles. Finally, the spy comes to grief when he falls over a steep precipice (or at least that's what happens according to most contemporary reviews of the film).
