In this chilling documentary, four elderly and very respected Austrian men, doctors and lawyers, discuss their Nazi past, their current lives, and their present views. Though each was sentenced to a prison term at Nuremburg, they were released after serving only a few years in prison. If this film is any indication, the naive and sweet-looking old gentlemen still hold to the fundamentals of their former allegiance and display an extraordinary gift for making the facts (e.g. the 6 million Jews systematically killed in the Holocaust) fit their prejudices (i.e., that only a few Jews were killed, usually by individuals acting on their own). They betray a similar lack of thoughtfulness or perspective in other areas, justifying the Nazi's persecution of gypsies on the basis of their allegedly having a propensity to become sexually active at the (to them) scandalously early age of fourteen. Even presuming for a moment that this charge was true, the fact that it is not a justification for wholesale murder seems to escape them.
