A minor league criminal pulls a confidence trick on a man with little to lose in this short comedy-drama from writer and director Mark Hammett. Two young ne'er do wells (Alex Bond and Ben Williams) are a hundred pounds in debt to a small time gangster, and they need to raise the money fast if they don't want their legs broken. When they spot an elderly man (Steve Alais) taking a nap in the park while out walking his dog, the cleverer of the two lads gets an idea. As his friend leads the old man's dog away, the would-be con artist informs the befuddled gentleman that while he's been posing as Ralph the Dog for twelve years, he's now returned to his original human form and wouldn't mind some restitution for well over a decade of canine service. Rover's Return received its world premiere at the 2007 Slamdance Film Festival.
