Vitagraph's Rough Weather Courtship gets underway when an attractive young widow takes an ocean voyage. Every eligible bachelor on the ship pays court to the beautiful heroine, but when the waters get rough, they abandon romance and head for the rail, overcome with seasickness. Meanwhile, the ship's captain, who has a strong set of "sea legs," moves in and proposes to the girl. As he strolls off arm in arm with the heroine, her green-around-the-gills suitors can only look on in dismay -- before nausea overcomes them once more. The "seasick" gags weren't new in 1910, but they would continue to be trotted out for innumerable two-reel comedies in the future.
