Only during the silent film era could a plot like this work. Texan Richard Williams (Harry Morey) arrives in the States with his pal Lord Croyland, an agent for the British government. When Lord Croyland is injured in a car accident, Williams offers to carry some important documents to a munitions manufacturer, Jacob Renwyck (Franklyn Hanna). Renwyck believes that the Texan is Lord Croyland (since it's a silent, apparently no one bothered to question Williams' accent), and after seeing the man's pretty daughter Harriet (Alice Joyce), Williams decides to stay Lord Croyland for a while. Complications naturally arise because of this, and it gets even more curious when Williams' father Bill (William Frederic) comes looking for him. Williams' identity is inevitably discovered, but he nevertheless winds up with Harriet.
