Pathe's Repentant Beggar was released on a split reel with the same studio's Tale of a Leg. A grim, Zola-esque drama, the story concerns a starving indigent who comes across a lost bank note. He cashes the note and spends some of his newly acquired riches before his conscience kicks in. Passing a church, the beggar deposits the rest of the money in the collection box. Meanwhile, the bank clerk who lost the note is accused of thievery, whereupon he throws himself into the river. Providentially, the beggar shows up in time to rescue the man, who is saved from going to prison when the priest to whom the money was donated appears out of nowhere to return the funds.
