Telugu filmmaker Gudavailli Ramabrahmam directs this reformist drama which lambastes the evils of the zamindari (feudal landlord) system in rural India. Owner of a modest amount of land, Narsi Reddy (Bellari Raghava) is forced by hard times to borrow money from the local moneylender (G.V. Sitapathy), who is also the representative of area's biggest zamidar. Later in village elections, Reddy votes for the farm-laborer candidate instead of the one that the zamidar has officially sanctioned. In retaliation for his disloyalty, his son is beaten and he is publicly humiliated.
