In this Okinawan anthology film, three directors show the tension between native residents of that island and the Japanese, whom they view as foreigners, with humor and a light touch. The first story, "Aunt Reiko," briefly enters the life of an obstinate deaf woman, who was formerly an opera singer. The second, "Haruko and Hideyoshi," humorously chronicles the courtship between an Japanese postman and a local girl. The third, "Bomb Kids," follows the adventures of some boys who play at being punks when they learn of a reward being offered for the discovery of unexploded bombs left over from World War II.
