In between four mediocre 2-reel comedies opposite Harry Langdon, Swedish-accented vaudevillian El Brendel took time out for this slapstick farce with Shemp Howard. They play plumber's assistants who manage to reduce a house to shambles in less than 2 reels. The plot, a remake of Plumbing for Gold (1934), starring the team of George Sidney and Charlie Murray, and A-Plumbing We Will Go (1940), featuring The Three Stooges, proved one of the Columbia short subject department's most workable and was trotted out again for Vagabond Loafers (1949) and Scheming Schemers (1956), both with the Stooges.
