This "preparedness" feature was assumed at the time of its release to be a British film, but was in fact produced in Italy. The main character is a young pacifist, totally opposed to warfare of any kind for any reason. His steadfastness in this matter causes him to be branded a coward, and costs him the love of his sweetheart. Hoping to win back his girl, the hero enlists in the army, and even volunteers for a suicide mission. Seriously wounded in battle, he is nonetheless grateful for the opportunity to prove his bravery and patriotism. Though not specifically set during WWI, The Peace at Any Price Man was obviously meant to tie in with the then-raging European conflict.
