The all-too-familiar premise of this Lubin comedy finds two cousins, a man and a woman, about to inherit a huge sum of money -- but only if both are married. Not wishing to sacrifice their freedom, both cousins declare that they'd rather be disinherited than walk down the matrimonial aisle. Through the intervention of their friends, the cousins meet for the first time and, each unaware of the other's true identity, immediately fall in love. The two end up getting married and collecting their inheritance in spite of their initial protests. The official studio synopsis fails to explain the significance of the title, though one can assume that "over the wire" can be translated as "just in the nick of time."
