This two-reel wartime documentary was distributed nationwide by World Films. The film concentrates on Camp Pike, AR, a basic-training facility which was put together in a record 52 days at a cost of 40,000 dollars. No mere collection of slapdash barracks, Camp Pike was a fully developed city, complete with paved streets, a sophisticated sewer system, and all the modern facilities. Much of the footage is devoted to the training of Camp Pike's uniformed "residents," though for propaganda purposes the Boys in Khaki are also shown enjoying a great deal of rest and relaxation. Not surprisingly, Over Here was filmed with the cooperation and supervision of the U.S. War Department.
