Carlyle Blackwell plays Bradford Stewart, an American visiting Germany at the outbreak of World War I. He is in his hotel room, minding his own business when a woman (Gail Kane) bursts in, embraces him and calls him her dear husband. It turns out she is an Allied spy who has documents that must be delivered to French headquarters. Naturally, Stewart willingly helps her and just as naturally the two fall in love as they encounter danger and intrigue. This lighthearted spy comedy was based on a novel, The Little Comrade, by Burton E. Stevenson. It was obviously shot around the New York area, as director Robert T. Thornby has the Hudson doing a poor imitation of the Rhine.
