This Essanay comedy delivers an abundance of laughs, a sturdy plotline, and even a closing moral -- all in the space of 14 minutes. Travelling by train on a VIP pass, the president of the railroad inadvertently loses that pass, which falls into the hands of a hobo -- along with the president's frock coat and top hat. Deciding to take advantage of the situation (as who could blame him?), the hobo dons the coat and hat and boards the train himself. Given the red carpet treatment by the railroad employees, the hobo sees no reason to reveal his true identity. But upon meeting a Salvation Army girl, our shabby hero instantly reforms, returns the pass and the clothing articles to the genuine president, and returns to a happy life of carefree vagabondage.
