Advertised as the first all-talking feature to emanate from Greece, O Kakos Dromos was released in the U.S. as The Wrong Road. The story, which doesn't always make a lot of sense, is a shapeless combination of slapstick, music and marital farce. Much of the plot revolves around the misbehavior of a "fallen woman," who, unlike the virtuous heroine, has taken the wrong road in life. Nearly a reel of fortune was excised by the censors before O Kakos Dromos could be released in America. Under these circumstances, the film's final line of dialogue, "The wrong road is harmful," lost a great deal of its bite.
