Prolific Greek filmmaker Kostas Karayiannis directed this adaptation of the play +Our Own People by Alekos Sakellarios (who wrote the screenplay) and Christos Yiannakopoulos. The film stars Lambros Konstandaras as Lukas, who emigrated to Africa in search of a better life, leaving his pregnant wife and young child in Greece. After working hard with minimal results for two decades, Lukas returns to his home town in Greece along with his African servant (Yiorgos Moutsios), only to find that not only has Athens changed substantially, but the family he left behind has very little use for him after 20 years on their own. Eventually, of course, everything works out, but Lukas must first pay the price for his selfish decision. Katy Panou co-stars with Elia Kalliyeraki and the ubiquitous Lavrentis Dianellos.
