Artist and filmmaker Christina Battle created this experimental visual collage of images drawn from magazine advertisements of the 1950's. As colorful illustrations of happy families flood the screen, we're reminded of an era that was at once more innocent and less inclined to explore or question the darker side that has always been present in American culture. Battle created the film without the use of conventional camera equipment, instead fusing images to 16mm film by hand. Nostalgia (April 2001 to Present) was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
