Director Ataru Oikawa spins this teenaged road trip cum gangland drama about cheap hustles, paint thinner, and a pacemaker about to run out of power. Yamoto (Mikio Osawa) is a high school dropout from Hokkaido trolling the streets of Tokyo looking for a job. He finds Kaoru (Kaori Shimada), a waifish lass who doles out advertisements in the guise of tissue packets. After trying and failing with a few weather-worn pickup lines, he punches himself in the nose and the resulting blood garners him sympathy and eventually affection. She introduces him to her boss, Matsuura (Ikko Suzuki), a pretty thug who runs a number of rackets in which Kaoru participates -- including dealing paint thinner to brain cell-challenged high school kids. For a while, the criminal life is good -- Kaoru and Yamoto fall in love and Matsuura's Chinese lover whips up an amazing dinner. Then all hell breaks loose. Soon Matsuura's dead, and the two are packing heat and fleeing for their lives. Meanwhile, the pacemaker that keeps Kaoru alive is about to expire.
