Aotearoa hip-hop artist-turned-digital-filmmaker Dean Hapeta, aka Te Kupu, contributes to the evolution of the hip-hop form in this, his "rapumentary." Traveling from New York to Paris, Sydney to Kingston, and Ottawa to Colombia, Te Kupu explores the use of hip-hop as a medium for expression by the oppressed. From Indigenous assertations in Hawaii and Ottawa to land protests in Aotearoa, Te Kupu takes viewers to these differing lands and gives them access to musings and expressions they might not otherwise hear.
