Sir Philip (Harry Hilliard) goes to Norway, leaving London society behind, and meets sweet, simple Thelma (Vivian Martin), the antithesis of the haughty girls he knew back home. But he's not the only one who wants her -- a cripple is in love with her and the wealthy Mr. Dyceworthy lusts after her. When Philip goes mountain climbing with her father (William T. Hooker) and some other men, Dyceworthy makes his move on Thelma. But Philip comes back in time to rescue her. They marry and return to London, where a jealous woman convinces Philip that his wife has been untrue. Thelma returns to Norway, but Philip follows her and they are reconciled. This film was based on the novel by Marie Corelli.
