Silent film's first important comedy team -- Eddie Lyons and Lee Moran -- star in this Nestor production. Eddie's uncle (Frederick Gamble) is guardian to heiress Edith (Edith Roberts). He would like to see the two of them marry. Neither of the young people, however, are interested in getting engaged to someone they've never met. So Eddie asks his valet (Moran) to impersonate him, while he pretends to be the valet. Then Edith convinces her uncle to let her pretend to be the maid. When Lee arrives for dinner with Eddie in tow, they discover that the butler has left. Lee tells Eddie to help Edith with the dinner, and a mutual attraction springs up. Lee also finds himself attracted to the girl he believes to be the uncle's ward, but who is only the maid (Jane Bernoudy). Lee and Jane decide to elope, and only when they return do they discover that their new mates are merely servants. Eddie's uncle, meanwhile, is overjoyed that his plans for his nephew and Edith have worked out.
