Filmmaker Martha Colburn creates distinctive and troubling worlds of sex, hell, and politics in her short films. Her actors are animated homemade puppets, often in front of found film footage she has hand painted. Her new short is a political fairy tale about Dorothy and Osama where characters from the film emerge onto the walls of her installation. Scarecrows beware.
