Bessie Barriscale stars in this implausible drama. When she was a baby, Ariel (Barriscale) was washed up on shore during a storm and taken in by a Scottish fisherman, Andy MacTavish (Joseph J. Dowling). As a young woman she helps take care of Franklin Shirley (George Fisher), a young Londoner whose airplane crashes near the MacTavish home. Ariel falls in love with Shirley and is determined to obtain the education and culture necessary to win him, so she runs away to London and is taken in by a pair of old musicians (Howard Hickman and Nick Cogley). They discover she is a talented dancer and take her to theatrical producer Abe Strohman (Herschal Mayall). He promises to pay for her training and education on the condition that if Shirley does not want her, she will come to him instead. When Shirley becomes engaged to Elaine Shackleford (Lois Wilson), things look bad for Ariel, but as it turns out, Elaine loves another man (Clifford Alexander) and elopes with him. Ariel, who has decided to give up, is about to agree to Strohman's request when Shirley arrives at his office. Strohman good-naturedly relinquishes his claim and allows the couple to be together.
