This Essanay comedy commences as a violinist finishes composing his latest melody. He tests out the new song on his fiddle, nods in appreciation, and promptly falls asleep. In his dreams, the violinist wanders the streets, playing his new tune for the entertainment of the passersby. The melody has an amazing effect upon its listeners, forcing them to dance uncontrollably. Before the hero has awakened from his dream, everybody in town -- from the cop on the corner to the elephant in the zoo -- is swaying rhythmically to the "magic melody." "A mighty good film" was the verdict of the trade magazine Variety.
