This French musical comedy was released in English-speaking countries as My Foster Sister. It's the old chestnut about a starry-eyed young miss who sets her cap for a handsome, and much-older, movie star. To get closer to her idol Henry Garat, impulsive Meg Lemonnier poses as Garat's foster sister. The servants give her the boot, but eventually Meg realizes her goal when she meets Garat face to face. For once, the songs and comedy are on equal footing: in fact, the laughs linger in the memory far longer than the tunes. Outside of Garet and Lemonnier, the real star of the proceedings is gifted farceur Lucien Baroux as Garat's personal secretary (he even sings better than his boss!)
