Two very passionate young lovers discover love together with a strange and unavoidable aphrodisiac: Russian roulette. This love between Cat and Ximena, both tender and violent, boils one step away from death. They make a death pact. If one of the two dies in the act of love, the other one must kill themself also.
It all begins one stormy night when the lovers are destined to meet. Cat kills Ximena, but he is not capable of going through with their death pact. He is haunted by her presence and has visions of her. His automobile crashes, and he survives to wake up in the past at the hospital where he met Ximena. Their passion begins again the moment they lay eyes on each other. Their love is obsessive to the point of their willingness to leave what they love most. He leaves his motorcycles, painting, and women. She leaves her nursing.
Their love moves closer towards the edge of a precipice. What started as an innocent game turns into a suffocating passion where love is played for all or nothing. Isolated in an apartment, they engulf themselves in their passion until that stormy evening when the first bullet kills Ximena. Cat, unable to kill himself, runs out madly into the night.
As all nightmares, it never ends. Cat again imagines Ximena is alive, again crashes his automobile, and again wakes up at the eternal hospital, where a nurse with the face of his lover tells him, "I returned to give you one more opportunity. You must fulfill our agreement. Let's start again from the beginning."
