Beginning with an explication of Goethe's theory of colors, this video examines the hard science behind the existence of prismatic color. Goethe proposed that Sir Isaac Newton, in his attempts to isolate the colors contained in white light, had concentrated on visible colors. Goethe proposed that yet another spectrum existed within the dark space uninvestigated by Newton, but his research was ignored, for he was a layman. Only recently have scientists come to appreciate his ideas for the radical thoughts they were. This film has won several international awards for science documentaries.
