A documentary about 11-year-old Kimberly Torrez, who lives in Nogales, Mexico, with her family, but attends school in Arizona. Although she, her siblings and father are U.S. citizens, her mom—who, years ago, crossed into the U.S. illegally—is not; and unforeseen circumstances have found her in Mexico, again. The family moved to be with her, but life in Nogales is far from pleasant: gunshots accent many nights. Worse: her father has Hepatitis C as a result of a dirty tattoo needle.
