Edison's Laddie covers 20 years in the life of its titular hero. Early in his life, Laddie is apparently deserted by his mother. In fact, she has been hit by a streetcar and trundled off to a hospital, but nobody bothers to tell the boy (one of the many logic gaps in this 15-minute drama). Years later, Laddie has grown up to become a prominent New York doctor. Paying a visit to her son, the long-lost mother realizes that she no longer has any place in his life and discreetly removes herself. The trade paper Variety suggested that the newly-organized Motion Picture Censor Board start concentrating on films with faulty plots rather than those with "risque" elements.
