La Mujer y la Selva (The Woman and the Jungle) was the inaugural production from Argentina's Sur Film Studios. Fanny Loy stars as a worldly cabaret singer, stranded in a remote settlement in the Misiones region. A mercenary soul, Loy has no qualms about fleecing logging-camp owner Carlos Perelli for every peso he has. In retaliation, Perelli kidnaps Loy and spirits her away to his camp, where she eventually falls in love with him and mends her ways. This film would seem to be a loose remake of the 1932 RKO Radio soapera Lady of the Tropics.
