During the Spanish Civil War, a young shepherd named Joaquin (Ivan Corvacho Cervantes) comes upon the aftermath of an execution and finds that one of the corpses isn't dead. That body belongs to Galapago (Sergio Villanueva). Joaquin restores the stranger to health and transports him to a group of nuns. Decades later, in the 1980s, Joaquin (Alfredo Landa) tracks Galapago down and finds that he's homeless. But the more startling discovery is that he's the famed poet Federico García Lorca.
