In this formally experimental Australian drama, a writer of pulp novels has just finished his latest opus, a detective story, in only two days. He isn't ready to submit it to his publisher because he doesn't like the story's ending. Instead, he reviews the manuscript (and the story is shown on the screen), and at the same time he muses over his life. Despite the arty mannerisms of the storytelling, and the lack of a genuine plot, this black-and-white film was well-received by critics, as it was acted, filmed and directed in a competent and professional manner.
