This Vitagraph subject was distinguished by its adroit use of double-exposure photography. The hero is a young man who refuses to forgive the crimes of his jailbird father. Upon the father's release, the son makes a great show of ignoring him. Later on, however, the son finds himself in trouble with the law when it appears that he has killed a man. The son has been led to believe that he is guilty of murder, and in a series of "trick" shots he is haunted not only by the spectre of the supposed dead man, but also by the memory of his callous behavior toward his repentant father. When the son's "victim" shows up very much alive to exonerate the boy, our hero at last understands what his father has been going through and forgives the old man.
