In spite of the disapproval of his wife, Kate, Jim West (Melvin Mayo) runs a gambling parlor. When Stephen Morey commits suicide over his losses there, Kate gets fed up and leaves with their daughter. West's place is raided and he is sent to prison for two years. While he is there, he finds religion and becomes a minister upon his release. He is assigned a church in the town where Kate lives and he discovers that his daughter, Helen, is engaged to Morey's son, Frank. Frank, however, has inherited his father's penchant for gambling and West decides to help him out. But Frank doesn't want his help, so West follows him into the gambling den, and when the young man has lost his wad, he steps in and wins it all back. After that, he convinces Frank to stop gambling, and asks him to bring Helen to the church that Sunday. But their reunion is spoiled when the losing players show up and denounce West as a gambling minister. He is dismissed from his church in disgrace, but when Kate finds out what he's done, and why, she is content to have him back.
