Filmmaker Sanjay Kak uses the 60th anniversary of India's independence as a springboard to exploring the conflict over Kashmir in this provocative, sobering documentary. Over the course of the 18 year conflict, 60,000 civilians have been killed, and nearly 7,000 thrust into enforced disappearance (which often implies murder). In essence, normal Kashmiris are trapped in a bloody war between the military and terrorists. Can they ever be truly free?
