Takayoshi Watanabe directs this wry supernatural comedy about a ghost that won't take a hint. Shotaro (played by former rock icon Kenichi Hagiwara) runs a Japanese-style bar (izakaya) in Yokohama that is frequented by a number of neighborhood regulars. While his patrons might be having a good time, Shotaro is in no mood to drink and be merry. His wife, Shizuko (Shigeru Muroi), is on her deathbed, succumbing to a mysterious disease. Just before breathing her last breath, she makes Shotaro promise not to remarry. Otherwise, she warns, she will come back to haunt him. Later, Shotaro is not only depressed at the loss of his wife but also short-handed in his pub. His brother recommends he meets with a beautiful young widow named Satoko (Tomoko Yamaguchi). The two immediately hit it off and the newly married Satoko is pulling pints. Not long afterwards, Shizuko returns from the afterlife in a flowing white kimono and with spooky glint in her eye and she is not happy. Instead of eating their flesh or wasting their souls, she tries for a more passive-aggressive and annoying method: She won't leave. Soon Shotaro is calling the local temple to do something to get rid of this supernatural pest.
