Although this comedy lists Jimmie, the "famous Tarzan lion" in the credits, there are actually several lions, along with monkeys and dogs on hand to upstage the actors. J. Worthington Butts Jr. (Billy Mason) "spends his mornings in bed and his evenings in bad" (according to trade paper Moving Picture World). He wins the admiration of many chorus girls, and admonitions from his exasperated father (William Harcourt). One morning, after an especially wild night, J.W. Jr. is deposited on the doorstep along with the milk, and J.W. Sr. comes up with a plan. He gives the young man the keys to his cellar, which, of course, is a big cause for celebration. Jr. throws a party for all his pals, including his favorite chorus girl, Dolly Bender (Doris Dare). The group is entertained by a band made up of monkeys playing jazz (this might be seen as sly commentary on both the guests and on jazz music). A huge cake is brought out and a roaring lion emerges from it. The panicked guests create a lot of confusion as they rush to escape the several lions that seem to have appeared out of nowhere, until J.W. Sr. calls them off. His plan works, and J.W. Jr. swears off his wild ways.
