Victor Moore's series of one-reel "Klever Komedies" for Paramount release rolled ever forward with Invited Out. This time, Moore plays an unwed office clerk who yearns for female companionship -- and for a home-cooked meal. He receives numerous dinner invitations from his fellow employees, but alas, this only brings him into contact with married women. Things take a turn for the better when the boss' unhitched daughter invites Moore to come to her house for a nice supper. But just as he settles down at the table, a water pipe bursts in the girl's kitchen, drenching the meticulously prepared dinner and the rest of the guests. Thus, the hero is once again forced to dine alone in a greasy-spoon restaurant, bringing this single-reel character study to a Chaplin-esque conclusion.
