If this Florida-based Kalem production had bothered with accuracy, the Indians depicted herein would have been Seminoles. However, the film was vaguely set near the Mexican border, and the Indians were dressed in a hodgepodge of ill-matched costumes, so it was anyone's guess which tribe was being represented. The story is set in motion when an Indian scout, his wife and his daughter rescue a wounded indigent named Mexican Joe. Far from being grateful, Joe tries to rape the daughter, whereupon the scout boots him out of their wagon. In retaliation, Joe heads to a nearby Indian camp and foments an uprising, sparking a massacre in which all the white settlers except the scout and his daughter are killed. To avenge his murdered wife, the scout makes it his mission in life to kill every Indian who crosses his path. This he does, but not before squaring accounts with the treacherous Mexican Joe.
