Though he seldom mentioned the fact in later years, Broadway headliner Victor Moore once starred in a popular series of one-reel farces, all of them released in 1917 under the umbrella title "Klever Komedies." The series' October 1917 entry was In Bed -- In Bad, and it can truly be said that the title told all. Ordered to bed by his family doctor, Moore becomes convinced that he's at death's door. His only consolation is his pretty nurse, whose presence does not rest well with his customarily belligerent wife. The payoff comes at the end, when it turns out that Moore's illness is not due to lack of sleep, but lack of exercise!
