Lambros Konstandaras took over the role of Kostas, the roguish tavern worker who calls himself "the Prince" in Elias Paraskevas' remake of the 1930 silent classic. Once again, the story concerns Kostas being hired to impersonate a real prince at the home of wealthy Greek-American Paralis (Ioannis Prineas), and the consequences to his flirtation with the pretty Vera (Anna Kalouta) when the woman who is to eventually become his bride exposes his ruse. Marika Mantiniou, who made a career of playing the role on stage, reprises her comic performance as Paralis' drunken sister from the original film, and Emilios Veakis turns up as Kostas' boss.
