This four-reel British documentary was reviewed in Variety under the title Wild Animal Films. The film opens with several nerve-wracking close-ups of roaring jungle beasts in their native habitats. Among these are two lions, a hyena, and a leopard. The leopard came off as the most fearsome of the animals, voraciously tearing apart a dead bird. The Variety critics noted that much of the camerawork was too close for comfort, causing several ladies (and, presumably, a few men) to noticeably shirk and wince. Reportedly, the most frightening scene consisted of nothing more than a lion opening its huge mouth in a yawn.
