"Hubby" is sitting at home with his wife when the phone rings. His pals have gathered for a poker game, and want him to join them. Realizing that his wife isn't about to let him out of the house, the hero claims he's been called away on "important business" -- confirming this lie by sending himself a telegram. "Wifey" falls for the ruse, but later on gets suspicious and places a call to the poker players. To save himself from his wife's wrath, hubby persuades two of his buddies to invade his house, posing as burglars; he is to burst in and beat up the "crooks," thereby becoming a hero in his wife's eyes. As an upshot, hubby and his two co-conspirators are whisked off to jail while wifey laughs triumphantly, bringing this Essanay one-reeler to an abrupt close.
