Never a bastion of originality, the Lubin Company attempted to emulate the success of Biograph's "Jones Family" comedies with such films as How Brown Got Married. On the eve of tying the matrimonial knot, Mr. Brown is subjected to a "shivaree" by his friends. He is kidnapped, bound hand and foot, dressed in a childlike Buster Brown outfit, and deposited in the middle of a "haunted" house. As the wedding guests gather at the chapel the following day, the pranksters decide to call the police and inform them where Brown is hidden. Meanwhile, our hero has freed himself and has found his way out of the old house. When he sees a group of policemen heading his way, he assumes that they're going to arrest him because of his silly costume, and a zany chase ensues.
