This program explores the way that Native and aboriginal filmmakers are documenting contemporary as well as historical facets of their life that closely follow the oral tradition of their respective cultures. Home (Angiraq) is a perfect example of oral tradition unfolding before us on film. Veteran Inuit filmmaker Zacharias Kunuk gives us an intimate look into precontact lifeways of the arctic village of Igloolik in this narrative, historical re-creation, filmed entirely in Inuit with English subtitles.
