There was nary a dry eye in the audience when this Lubin 500-footer premiered in New York. The protagonist is a Civil War veteran, who has never missed participating in his town's annual Fourth of July Parade. Despite failing health, the old man intends to march in the 1910 festivities. Alas, the strain proves too much for the gallant old trouper, who dies with his boots on. Apparently filmed at Lubin's Philadelphia headquarters (an appropriate locale for so patriotic a subject), His Last Parade was released on the same reel as the studio's Mix in Masks.
