It should come as no surprise that Here Is Ireland was produced at the behest of the Irish American Film Corporation. Producer-photographer Pat Stanton also provided the narration for this elaborate travelogue, which afforded viewers gorgeous glimpses of such Hibernian landmarks as Dublin, the Blarney Stone and the Lakes of Killarney. In this instance, the narration was indispensable, since much of the photography is dark and murky. Still, the film succeeded in its goal of demonstrating the manner in which Ireland had embraced the 20th century while holding fast to past traditions. At 120 minutes, Here is Ireland had trouble getting bookings until its distributors brought it down to a manageable length.
