First seriously tested in the 1930s during conflicts in Spain and China, aerial bombing was refined in World War II until it became a central strategic weapon for both the Allies and the Axis. One of two videos in the Great WWII Air Wars collection set, this tape features a 52-minute program comprised of two documentaries that examine how plane warfare changed the face of war. This new air war included plane-to-plane aerial combat and missions where hundreds of planes dropped tons of high explosives to the ground. Highlights include archival footage.
