Resistance to Soviet influence was strong in much of Eastern Europe after World War II. The country of Hungary became the focus of world wide attention, when the people of that country rebelled in 1956, against Communist rulership. The world watched on television as Soviet tanks entered Budapest to crush the rebellion. Archival news footage covers the event.
