The title of this Pathe film also described the reaction of the viewers, at least according to the critic for the trade magazine Variety. The heroine is a clerk in a millinery shop, while the hero is her live-in lover. While delivering a hat to a customer, the girl is accosted by a handsome stranger who invites her to share a bottle of wine. Her lover witnesses all this, whereupon he promptly dashes off a letter to her, telling her that he's leaving. Upon receiving the note, the girl rushes home, only to find that her sweetheart has vacated the premises. Heartbroken, she prepares to commit suicide but is rescued in the nick of time by a helpful neighbor. Apparently none the worse for her previous experiences with men, the girl decides to move in with the neighbor, transferring all her affections to him.
